Nepal has four main seasons namely spring starts in March and ends in May.

Summer / Monsoon begins from June to August with autumn/fall starting from September and ending in November. Followed by; winter begins from December till February, the coldest months in Nepal where days are much shorter. 

The high and the best time to visit Nepal is in spring when the days are bright with sunny days. This is the time for nature lovers to witness wildflowers in the blooming season, especially the rhododendron of various species. Which is also the national flower of Nepal, the mid-hills are lively with bright flowers in bloom.

Likewise, the next best season is autumn/fall, most days are fine and clear for views and pleasant walks. However the days are shorter due to sunlight hours, but an enjoyable time for all types of holidays and adventures.

The summer/monsoon is the hottest and most humid month from June to August. Having rainfall all around the southern part of the Himalayas, except for another side of the mountains. Some areas beyond the Himalayas are dry like Upper Mustang, Dolpo, and Limi Valley. 

Which is an extension of the vast Southern West of the Tibetan plateau, where travelers can venture even in wet monsoon times. 

For short and moderate treks, adventures or leisure tours can enjoy visiting Nepal even in the winter season. Around December, January and February, although the coldest time of the year, it is enjoyable to spend Christmas and New Holidays.

In winter most days are fine and sunny for short hours but you can enjoy various exciting activities. Quite different to other main high seasons, with few foreigners to encounter makes a special holiday in winter times.
