The upper region of Manaslu valley is one of the restricted areas of Nepal.

Opened for outside visitors from 1992 onwards, trekkers need to obtain a special permit to enter the Upper Manaslu. Includes entrance fee for MACP (Manaslu Area Conservation Project), and ACAP (Annapurna Area Conservation Project).

The trek leads towards a high Larke-La pass at 5,106 m that forms the boundary of the Gorkha and Manang districts.

Manaslu Circuit is quite different from other main normal trekking, where the main flow of trekkers is quite limited. As it falls within a restricted area, where all trekkers need to join reliable Government Regisrated Trekking agencies.

Around Manaslu, one cannot travel or enter as a FIT (Free Individual Trekkers) or solo traveler. However, an exciting and wonderful adventure to gain enough experience, walking from lower warm paddy fields to cooler hills.
